Shared Endorsements are a new advertising format that features the names and profile pictures of Google users who have +1’d, reviewed or shared whatever is being advertised.
This means that your smiling face and (presumably positive) point of view may appear in paid ads in Google search, Google PlusTM or Google Shopping, among other places.
While this might be a great way for your reviews to get extra exposure, not everyone might be comfortable having their +1’s and reviews being shared with the world.
That’s why we have already updated PrivacyFix to include this new privacy choice, and soon users will start to see notifications through their mobile apps and browser alerts.
Available through the regular PrivacyFix dashboard, you can find the endorsements setting in the Google section, just underneath YouTube.
Whatever choice you make, ultimately it’s up to you. We like to believe that AVG products like PrivacyFix help you be yourself online, whether or not that means being yourself as part of an ad.
