Here’s where technology comes to the rescue like a Lycra wearing savior.
I’ve scoured the web to find some apps that can help you make the most out of your time at college without sacrificing your grades or your privacy.
Each app has been handpicked by me to help with a certain aspect of college life both academic and social.
Apps for the serious student: Because you’re an academic, right?

App: 101 Interview Questions and Answers
Category: Job Interview
Required Permissions: None
Details: 101 Interview Questions and Answers is a guide to the interview process of biblical proportions. Crammed full of ideas and measured responses, 101 will help prepare you for some of the trickiest hours that you can face when a student.

App: SimpleWash
Category: Social Media
Required Permissions: Facebook info (see screenshot)
Details: It’s no secret that social media profiles are becoming a more important part of job applications (check out our Digital Diaries study) and this is where Facewash can help. As Facewash say, “Start becoming a professional today”.

App: Woodchuck
Category: Reading
Required Permissions: None
Details: Woodchuck is an absolute godsend. One of the worst parts of being a student is reading long (and mostly boring) academic texts. Woodchuck makes this arduous task a little easier by breaking them down into digestible portions that can be read in minutes. It even works on pdfs.

App: Scheedule
Category: Scheduling

Details: Scheedule: Scheedule takes your college timetable and those of your friends and gives you a list of who is available to go eat/play/lift with at any given time.

Apps for social life: Having a good time has never been so easy.

App: Now
Category: Social Media

App: SplitWise
Category: Money

App: GobiCab
Category: Transport
Required Permissions: Location Services
Details: GobiCab makes it easier than ever before to find people heading in the same direction so that you can split a cab fare. And hey you might meet some cool new people on the way.

What do you think of this list? Are there any apps you would include? What apps could you not live without?
