The comparative evaluation, which tested similar products from four of the leading security brands, was conducted on virtual machines to simulate the deployment and management of endpoint security for Microsoft Windows 7 clients. Tolly engineers examined a variety of management functions applicable to individual endpoints and to groups via policy updates.

In comparison with the competing platforms tested, the Tolly Group determined  that AVG CloudCare currently offers  the most comprehensive management functionality including its easy-to-use, intuitive user interface; seamless, integrated “push” install; customizable alerts and pre-defined reports; quarantine management via cloud console; ability to temporarily enable/disable endpoint security services; wake-on-LAN and complete remote control.

In conducting these tests, Tolly Group concluded that that while a move to “the cloud” does have a state-of-the-art aura to it, there remain some considerable gaps in management functionality amongst some of the current offerings. They concluded that the AVG CloudCare solution provided the most comprehensive set of management functions among the solutions evaluated.
